SunBilt Power Transmissions

Sun Machinery currently builds and stocks three major brands of transmissions - Allison, Clark, and Twin Disc.  All have been thoroughly rebuilt and tested on our dynamometer.

If you have a problem with your transmission/torque converter, give us a call so we might help you troubleshoot the problem.  If it is a minor problem, we can help you repair what is needed to get you up and running again.  If the problem is major, we can bring and install a rebuilt unit, ship a rebuilt unit to you, or repair and return your unit.

 All SunBilt transmissions/torque converters go through the following rebuild procedures:

Pre-cleaning
Complete disassembly
Inspected for cause of failure
Cleaned in an agitated hot tank
Re-inspected after cleaning
Pre-assembly cleaning
Assembly
Tested for three (3) hours minimum   
Painted
Placed in stock for future exchange

Then The most important part of the rebuild procedure is testing. Each transmission and torque converter is rigorously tested on our dynamometer which is NOT a spin test stand, but a waterbrake powered by an engine capable of stalling the transmission. This procedure allows us to see, under load, how the unit will respond when installed before it is installed.  We also analyze the oil before and after the test to see if there is any abnormal wearing of parts.
